CHAIR
Jim Mackechnie is Chair of the Cordia board and is an elected member of Glasgow City Council representing the Canal Ward.
Jim has overall responsibility for the workings of Cordia and chairs board meetings. He contributes to strategy and approves initiatives presented by the directorate of Cordia.
He is a graduate of Politics at Edinburgh University and is a Chartered Librarian. Jim worked with Learning and Teaching Scotland for 34 years, he has been active in the trade union movement throughout his career and was the Scottish Chairperson of ASTMS (now part of UNITE for three years).
Jim is presently Chair of the North Glasgow Community and Health Care Partnership
and is a trustee of the Firhill Community Trust. Jim is also a member of the Westend Festival Committee and Convener of the Glasgow North Constituency Labour Party.
